Expanse - Development update 2
Minecraft 1.16.1 released and it's time for an update on the development of the new Expanse server!
The development right now
Right now, the server is in a closed alpha stage. Players can apply to test here.
Since the last update, many bugs have been fixed and a number of new features have been added. Among other things, players can themselves make a backup of their world, which can then be restored in the event of an accident.
Above all, the server is now updated to 1.16.1!
A menu has also been added to make it easier to find other menus and commands.
In Levels2 you can now track EXP for a specific exp type.
Expansion costs have also been balanced and prices of items have been adjusted. Several plugins from the old server have also been transferred to Expanse.
A tax system has been introduced, where the money goes to the expansion of the spawn world. Right now, the main world is expanding 1 blocks per $ 10 thousand.
Future developments
Click here to read our Road-map. Right now, development along with the new Spigot version continues 1.16.1 and Alphan will go on until the server is so stable that a reset of player data is never needed again. This applies to economics and player worlds. When the Beta is released the whitelist will be removed and the idea is that a wipe will never be needed again.
As most of our Staff team work or study full time, this means that Mineworlds will generally become a project on our spare time and we are currently discussing internally about reducing the number of separate staff roles and introducing a more general role instead.. This means that Staff will generally be able to contribute to the server more easily through a better allocation of resource management.
Current server
The current server is now shut down. If you have any opinions on this we will refer you to Discord. Expanse will replace the old server. The big difference is actually how the new server is managed and that Clans and PvP will no longer have as much focus.
